What will be covered
Being
The BEING module is designed to help actors cultivate a deeper awareness of themselves, their internal life, and their environment through heightened sensory perception. This process involves learning to recognize and release physical tension, allowing for greater ease and authenticity in performance. At the same time, actors will explore ways to navigate mental tension, fostering emotional fluidity and a stronger connection to their thoughts and feelings. Through this journey, they will begin to refine their unique perspective and develop a clearer sense of their personal and artistic identity. By immersing themselves in this exploration, actors will gain a richer understanding of presence, enabling them to engage more truthfully with their craft and the world around them.
Doing
The DOING module emphasizes physical engagement as a gateway to spontaneity, presence, and deeper character exploration. Actors will interact with space, objects, and rhythm, shifting their focus from overthinking to instinctive action. Through structured exercises, they will discover the power of movement, training their ability to respond organically in the moment. As they refine their physical awareness, they will also engage in high-stakes scenarios where movement is restricted, learning to embody a character’s inner thoughts and emotions rather than merely portraying them. This process strengthens their ability to think as the character, fostering a more authentic and immersive performance.
